A Complete Soul 1

I just read a very good article about an old man who repaired typewriters during World War II and beyond. Very recommended.

For some reason, I really like old things that aren't "useful" anymore. I have a slide rule and a typewriter on my desk next to my multi-core, Internet connected computers. I'm not so much a pack-rat, I don't think (maybe consult with my wife on that question), I just like great things, no matter when in history they were considered great.

Gremlins for Dinner, or Dinner for Gremlins? +

I spend so much time on the Internet, and yet I spend so little time at my blog. How do I expect to attract readers if I never write anything?

Lucky you, I'm going to post pictures and updates on how the restoration of my most favorite car from the list of all the cars I've ever owned. It's a short list.

I've finally decided to make something of myself. Give myself some direction. Purpose. Reason for being. My online self, anyway. BenjaminHowe.com is on it's way to becoming useful. The circumstances surrounding the pomp +

Today is Sunday, May 3rd, 2009. Sunday, the day of rest, and how restful it shall be. A couple of important things happened yesterday. Not so much that a couple of things happened, I suppose, but that a couple of things ended. Actually, not that a couple of things ended, but that a couple of things actually began. It was the preparations for them that ended.

My percussionist brother +

My little brother finally discovered the magic of the tonal properties of music. Here's a video of a song he played and got some kind of award for.

Speech posted +

I have posted my commencement speech that I won't be giving at my graduation ceremony coming up. There were a number of other contestants for the honor and I wasn't the one selected. Lest the effort go completely to waste, I've made the speech available here.

On Hope +

Hope is nice. It's good. I have hope, and I hope that other people have hope too. I think it is a necessary part of achievement and an important extension to dreaming.
